HENRIK VIBSKOV AW 17/18

 HENRIK VIBSKOV AW 17/18

PH Monique LaPointe

During the last Paris Men's Fashion Week I had the pleasure of seeing another incredible show/performance/art piece by that masterful Dane, Henrik Vibskov. Set around an installation known as the "5 O'Clock Leg Alignment" where padded dancers performed a ritualesque series of synchronized motions reminiscent of gym excercises Henrik sent out a collection rooted in symbolic remnants of our childhood days. Kites on sweaters, running track patterns, uniform playsuits, and abstract board games fleshed out the universe Henrik Vibskov has created for us. From denim on denim to wool and waxed cotton and even thermal coats made out of recycled plastic all come together harmoniously. Some of my favorite aspects had to be the unusual accessories the models wore on the ears seeming to be wire corkscrew and printed tulle. Once again I feel very lucky to have experienced the spectatcle of a Henrik Vibskov show and the wonder afterwards of what exactly I just saw and what it meant. Here are a few images from the AW 17/18 show in Paris.
